Our Community

  • We worship together every Sunday with a regular pattern of services that offers something for everyone. Across the month, our parish alternates between Holy Communion and Morning Prayer — two cherished forms of worship in the Church of Ireland.

    • Holy Communion
A service centred on the Eucharist, where we gather around the Lord’s Table to remember Christ’s sacrifice and to be strengthened by His presence.

    • Morning Prayer
A service of Scripture, prayer, and reflection — uplifting and peaceful, giving us space to hear God’s word and respond in praise.

Whether it’s Holy Communion or Morning Prayer, each Sunday is an invitation to pause, pray, and be part of our church family. Everyone is warmly welcome to attend, take part, and stay for a chat afterwards.

  • Once a month (every third Sunday) we gather for our Family Service — a joyful and relaxed time of worship where children are at the heart of the celebration. With lively music, storytelling, and plenty of opportunities to participate, this service helps our young people grow in faith while bringing every generation together as one church family. It’s a wonderful Sunday to invite friends, neighbours, and little ones who are new to church life.

    Copperpot the Orangutan

Keep an eye out for Copperpot — Cathy’s friendly (and very cheeky!) orangutan puppet who loves to help tell Bible stories and teach us about God’s love. Copperpot brings laughter, curiosity, and lots of surprises to our Family Services and children’s ministry. He’s always ready to share a message, pull a funny face, and remind us that learning about faith can be joyful and fun!

  • Throughout the year, we celebrate the seasons of the Church with special services that draw us deeper into the story of God’s love. From the anticipation of Advent and the joy of Christmas, to the solemn reflection of Holy Week and the hope of Easter, these gatherings help us mark meaningful moments together. We also hold services for Harvest, Remembrance, and other significant times in the life of our parish and community. All are welcome to come and share in these beautiful and faith-filled celebrations.

  • A friendly and relaxed gathering in the Rectory Shed where anyone can drop in for a cuppa, chats, and good company. It’s a lovely way to start the day and stay connected with others in the parish.

  • The Charabanc Society organises outings and day trips to interesting places near and far. It’s a perfect opportunity to explore, learn something new, and enjoy shared adventures with friends. To see the events we have running please see the events section.

  • Little ones growing, friendships flowering.

Baby Bloomers is our new church-run toddler group at St Patrick’s — a gentle, welcoming space where babies, toddlers, and their grown-ups can gather, play, and connect. Rooted in care and community, it’s a place for little children to explore safely while parents and carers enjoy conversation, encouragement, and a warm cup of tea.

Set within the calm surroundings of the church, Baby Bloomers offers simple play, songs, stories, and seasonal activities designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence in the earliest years. There’s no rush and no pressure — just a relaxed rhythm where everyone is welcome.

    What makes Baby Bloomers special:

    • A friendly, supportive environment for parents, grandparents, and carers

    • Safe, engaging play for babies and toddlers

    • Music, rhyme, and story moments that little ones love

    • A chance to build friendships within the parish and local community

    • A calm, nurturing start to the day in a beautiful setting

Whether you are part of the church already or simply looking for a place to belong, Baby Bloomers is open to all. Come along and watch both children and friendships blossom.

  • Our Pastoral Care Group is a team of trained and trusted volunteers who help ensure that our church is not only a place of worship, but a community of care. Working alongside the clergy, they offer practical, emotional, and spiritual support to members of the parish and local community in a gentle and respectful way.

What the Pastoral Care Group Does

    • Keeps in Touch
Reaches out to those who may be housebound, unwell, or unable to attend services, helping them remain connected to parish life.

    • Offers Visits and Companionship
Provides friendly home visits, hospital visits, or a simple chat over a cup of tea — especially for those experiencing loneliness or isolation.

    • Supports People in Difficult Times
Walks alongside individuals and families during illness, bereavement, or other challenges, offering a listening ear and quiet reassurance.

    • Prays With and For People
Shares prayer when requested and upholds parishioners confidentially in prayer, always with sensitivity and care.

    • Welcomes and Connects
Helps newcomers feel at home and encourages a spirit of belonging across all ages and stages of life.

    • Works in Partnership with Clergy
Extends the pastoral reach of the priest by ensuring care is shared, personal, and sustained throughout the parish.

This ministry is offered with kindness, discretion, and respect for privacy. It reflects our belief that pastoral care is the responsibility of the whole church — expressing Christ’s love through presence, compassion, and practical support in everyday life.
